It appears on the surface that we area united people. But under the surface there lurks a dark spirit of opposition, a spirit of hate and level- , ing destrnction that may mean trouhle and calamity. Add to this the subversive activities of aliens and we have a situation somewhat alarming. We feel impelled to lift a warning voice. In all seiious-ness seiious-ness we tell the people that if they permit themselves to become divided they "are sure lo lose the fight and to bring on a great deal of internal trouble. And in losing the war we stand to lose everything, our liberty, our property, our democracy, even our civilization Some prominent men and two or three prominent newspapers are already on the borderline of treason. If they keep on they Will bring about ab-out a condition thtit will cause them to lose all they possess. pos-sess. Their properties Will fall into debri and dust and their freedom and good life will vanish. The rich and the. infuential should lead out for unity absolnte and complete unity. Labor and capital must stand united, Americans, keep up a loyal spirit. Throw to the winds your doubts and fears. Unite as never before. Submit Sub-mit yourselves to your country. Throw away every little prejudice and hate and criticism you may have and do everything ev-erything in your power to help your country win the victory vict-ory for truth.justice and liberty. In winning for these Am erica will survive in triumphant grandeur, but if she loses because of disunity and treason from within she will go down to become one with the empires thai sleep in the dust. For God's sake, fellow citizens, do not contribute by any word or act of yours to such an inglorious end America, the promise of all time's drifting ages, is yours today and verily it must be maintained at any eest for your children and your children's children unto the latest generation.
