Named President Mrs. Karl Banks Elected to Head FederatedClubs Mrs. Karl Banks, local club woman wo-man and civic worker, was elected President of the Timpanogos First District Womens Federated Clubs, at a convention of the organization organiza-tion held in Lehi Saturday. Elected at the same time were Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Taylor, Lehi, first vice president; presi-dent; Mrs. J. D. Pyne, Orem, second sec-ond vice president; Mrs. D. B. Bennett, Ben-nett, Orem, recording secretary; Mrs. Frank Greenwood, American Fork, terasurer; Mrs. Ronald Price Lehi, historian and Mrs. Vern Hol-indrake, Hol-indrake, American Fork auditor. Mrs. Arvil Wadley of Pleasant vjrove was appoimeu correspunu-ing correspunu-ing secretary. Mrs. Banks has been active in civic, club and veterans affairs for many yearsfln the activities of the American Legion Auxiliary, she has served as Department of Utah President, National Executive Execu-tive Committee Woman, President of Unit 70 and Americanism Chairman Chair-man of Unit 70 and District IV. In club work she has been First Vice President of Timpanogos First District and State Auditor of the Federated Worn ens Clubs. She is currently Parliamentarian for the Womans Legislative Council Coun-cil of Utah County. In civic affairs she has been in charge of numerous activities of community betterment. She is currently cur-rently president of the local Health Council and chairman of the Red Cross Blood Bank and Mobile Chest X-ray committee. The Saturday convention was sponsored by the Womens Federated Feder-ated Clubs of Lehi, and presented Dean Wesley P. Lloyd of the Brig-haam Brig-haam Young University as guest speaker. Dr. Lloyd spoke on "World Affairs." A striking feature of the table decorations was a collection of hand-carved and beautifully costumed cos-tumed dolls made by Mrs. Elnora Williamson Gray of Lehi. The dolls represented all the wives of t iie Presidents of the United Stales, dressed in their inaugural gowns. Mrs. Gray is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Williamson of Pleasant Grove. |
