Show "Harmony Week" Proclaimed by Local Mayors Mayors Burton H. Adams and Harold Keetch of Pleasant Grove and London in conjunction with Mayor Lloyd Cullimore of Provo have Jointly declared this week "Harmony Week." Activities started Monday with the serenading of the downtown shopping area in Provo by two of, the Utah Valley Chapter's Barber Shop Quartets. Service clubs in this area will be visited on Tuesday and Thursday Thurs-day nights by Barbershop Quartets Quar-tets with "Harmony" as a theme. Friday, Sept. 18 at 8:15 p.m. at the Provo High School the week's activities will be culminated culmin-ated by presentation of the "Harmony "Har-mony Night" charter show. This show represents the formation of , a looal 'group of "Barber Shoppers" Shop-pers" into a chapter of the Society So-ciety for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. (SPEBSQSA). Featured on the evening's entertainment en-tertainment are "The Evans Quartet" rated second in the recent re-cent international competition in a field of some 600 quartets; "The Tonichords" well known comedy quartet; "The Redheads" female barbershoppers; "The Beehive Statesmen Chorus" and the newly formed "Utah Valley Chorus" under the direction of Fred Webb in addition there will be several other outstanding quartets. Tickets are on sale at local barber shops and from charter members. |
