Show Changes Are Planned For C C Organization Direotors and members of the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce, who attended the meeting and stag social held in the First-Fifth Ward House last Thursday night are enthusiastic with the constructive ideas ad- vanced for the re-vamping of the local organization. Secretary Stewart Durrant of the American Fork C of C was the featured speaker. In his interesting in-teresting remarks he explained the methods 'and organization setup of the American Fork Chamber of Commerce. Some of these recommendations are as follows ; 1. To 'increase the membership of the board of directors from the present 10 to at least 15. Each director to serve 3 years and 5 to be elected each year. 2. Each director to be in charge of one specific activity of the Chamber of Commerce. 3. That an advisory committee commit-tee be set up, ohairmaned by the immediate past president and staffed by members appointed from the membership at large. 4. That all past presidents a-vailable a-vailable serve as ex-officio members mem-bers of a nominating committee to nominate 10 candidates for the 5 board of directors vacancies vacan-cies each year. 5. That secret ballots be mailed out to the membership with the request that the ballots be marked mark-ed and returned before a deadline dead-line date. 6. That members may "write in" the names of any other candidates can-didates they prefer. 7. That following the ejection, votes are ito be counted at a special "election meeting" of 'the board of directors and the: .winners .win-ners determined 'and publically announced. According to Chamber of Commerce Com-merce President Grant Atwood, a committee of five are currently being called to study the by-laws of the local organization in view of suggesting constructive changes. chan-ges.
