Show Historical Society Executive Council Meets in PI. Grove Exe utive Council of Utah Valley Val-ley H itorical Society met with Mrs. l'-irold S. Walker, president of the Society, at her home Sunday Sun-day afternoon, and made necessaiy committee appointments and outlined out-lined plans for the coming year. Those present with Mrs. Walker were Dr. Richard Poll of BYU, vice president; and Edith Young Booth, of Provo, secretary-treasurer. Dr. Russell Swenson, other member mem-ber of the council, is in Hayward, Calif., recuperating from an operation. oper-ation. Committee appointed at the Sunday meeting were, program, Gustave Larson, BYU department of religion, chairman, and Dr. Poll and Mrs. Victor Bird. Publicity, Ruth Pardridge, Mrs. LeRoy Haf-en, Haf-en, A. B. Gibson and Joseph Robinson Rob-inson of Lehi. Membership, Mrs. James Jacobs and Mrs. Claude Ashworth of Provo, Dr. A. L. Curtis, Cur-tis, Payson, Judge Jacob Coleman, Provo, Clark Brown, American ; Fork. Finance: Dr. Harold. R. Clark, BYU, State Senator Luke . Clegg, Provo, .Mrs. Mamie Davis and Roy Slack, Provo. Membership drive will begin early in January, 1955. Anyone interested in Utah and Utah Valley Val-ley history are invited to become members. Membership fee is $1.00. Membership in the Utah State His- j tor'.cal Society is $5.00. "he Society encourages the collection col-lection of old letters and diaries of ; historical interest, to be studied and placed on file in the library at the Utah State Capitol. Members are also invited to write histories 1 and historical data of their own : localities. First meeting of the Executive ; Council will be held first week in ; January. |
