Show California Trip Is Enoyed by Couple After enjoying a delightful 12 day vacation in the sunshine of California and Arizona, Mr. and Mrs. Neils Fugal returned home Friday evening. Their itinerary took them to Los Angeles, where among many places of interest they visited the new LDS temple being erected there. They then drove south along the coast and on through Arizona, visiting Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona. Ari-zona. They enjoyed sessions at the Mesa and St. George temples. Among the many and very interesting stops was the one at the LDS Church welfare farm at Perris, Calif. This project. is conducted con-ducted by fifteen stakes in California Cali-fornia and comprises 580 acres. Each Saturday one of the stakes sends a crew of men to work, thus taking their turns every 15th week. Six men are employed full time and live at the farm,, which is irrigated ir-rigated by an underground water system. Main crops are hay, grain and potatoes. They have a large herd of beef cattle, a dairy herd and poultry flocks. What ever produce pro-duce is not consumed by their stake is sent to the Salt Lake City warehouse. On the farm there are many homes, available to employees and to overnight visitors. Many other interesting features of which Mr. and Mrs. Fugal could tell were seen. |
