Show University Women Hold First Meeting Of Season Oct. 2 On Wednesday. Oct. 2, the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Branch of AAUW held its first meeting of the current season. The new president, Elma Fugal, was in charge and led discussions dis-cussions of plans for the rest of the year. Estelle Fenton gave some pertinent per-tinent information and led a discussion dis-cussion about current problems of Syria, segregation and unions. This discussion was to stimulate interest inter-est in the study groups along similar sim-ilar lines which are planned for the year. Tasty ref reshments were served by Margaret Hayes, Leone Told, and Zola Elackhurst and club mem-bei-s present were Jennie Gleason, Mildred Ferre, Sharon Beck, Bethel Beth-el Allred, Thelma Martel, Ruth Bezzant, Emily Pedersen and Thiel Roberts, besides those previously mentioned. The requirements for belonging to AAUW are that the woman must have graduated from an accepted ac-cepted college and that she must be interested in continuing to learn. Since Pleasant Grove is growing so rapidly, there may be many college col-lege graduates in the area who would like to join AAUW who have not been Invited to do so.
