Show Legion Sets Party Date Mar. 20 for Annual Birthday The annual birthday party for American Legion Post 70 and Auxiliary will be held Friday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Aipine Villa Grill. "The week of March 15 to 21 1959 marks the 40th anniversary of the organization, which was set up by U.S. veterans in France following World War I.," said Milton Adamson, Commander of Pleasant Grove Post 70. We feel justly proud that we can celebrate cele-brate 40 years of service of the American Legion with 59 members, mem-bers, the largest membership in the history of Post 70, Commander Comman-der Adamson added. The Friday night party will feature a roast beef dinner, a huge birthday cake and patriotic table decorations, according to Mrs. Karl Banks, president of Auxiliary Unit 70. Speaker for the evening will be Professor Ivan D. Barrett, of the BYU Department of Religion. Re-ligion. Prof. Barrett will review the accomplishments of the American Am-erican Legion during the past four decades. Legionaine William Will-iam E. Peterson will entertain with vocal solos. Reservations may be made by contacting Mr. Adamson, Mrs. Banks or any officer of Post 70. All Legionaires, their partners, and members of Unit 70 Auxil-iaiy Auxil-iaiy are most cordially invited. |
