Show Lindon Third Grade Takes Field Trip All but one of Mrs. Angus M. Maughan's 24 Third grade pupils at the Lindon School made a field trip down through the hollow and over to the community park last week. Linda Bates could not join the group because of illness. The primary purpose of the trip was to take special notice of the signs of Autumn and the effect that changing climate has on vegetation. veg-etation. To make a study of animal ani-mal and plant life in our locality and search for and select specimens speci-mens for the group's desert ter-rarium ter-rarium was the secondary purpose of the jaunt. With three lizzards to their credit the third graders are not only learning the secrets of stocking stock-ing a dry terrarium with sand, gravel, and soil, etc., and the different dif-ferent types of plants and animals, such as frogs, toads, lizards, and turtles, but are also studying the reptiles' stages of growth, living habits, and food requirements. |
