Show Forest Trees Not To Be Cut In Am. Fork Canyon To preserve the beauty of the nearby canyons and particularly American Fork Canyon, it has been necessary to stop cutting Christmas trees in the Uintah National Na-tional Forest, announced Wallace M. Saling, local forest ranger. The demand would be so heavy that the canyons would be completely com-pletely ruined in a short time. Also the trees are not too good and are quite difficult to get out, said Mr. Saling. The Alpine Scenic Loop is advertised ad-vertised nationally and is quite a drawing card for tourists. It would be quite foolish to cut out the evergreen trees through this area. Mr. Saling said that the canyons are being patrolled and violators will be prosecuted. |
