Show Postmaster Gives Hints On Mailing For Xmas Delivery Postmaster Ray Mills has requested re-quested that all Christmas packages pack-ages and Christmas cards be mailed mail-ed as early as possible, in order that they may reach their destination destin-ation in time for Christmas. He gives the following, as a guide to not only helping the postoffice, but assuring yourself that your packages pack-ages and cards will get there in time. Packages going to the east coast shoud be mailed before the 14th of December. Mail for the western states should be mailed before the 19th of December. Sort mail going go-ing out of city and mail being delivered in the city in separate bunches. To assure that the Christmas cards will get there, use first class and air mail on Christmas cards, which will guarantee forwarding and or returning to sender if not deliverable. A 2c stamp will mail a Christmas card anywhere in the U.S., if it is unsealed, but cannot be forwarded without additional postage, or returned to the sender without additional postage. Send your Christmas cards and packages, now, says Postmaster Mills. |
