Show LOCAL NEWS Mrs. Lewis Wells and 3 children child-ren are spending a week in Cedar City ,with their hushand and father ,who is employed there. Mrs. Pearl Wadley and Mrs. Jennie B. Bennett have returned from a weeks visit in Milford with Mr and Mrs. Wendell Keetch and Max. Brenda Blackhurst of Charleston Charles-ton is visting in Pleasant Grove, a guest of Diane Warnick. Second ward M. I. A. will hold a song festival on the ward chapel lawns on Tuesday, July 3, at 8 o'clock p. m. Singing and rejoicing rejoic-ing will furnish a prelude to the July 4, holiday and celebration. Everyone is invited to participate. partici-pate. Special invitations are extended ex-tended to Stake M. I. A. officers. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse K. Thorne and family the past week enjoyed a few days of fishing at Green Lakes in the high Uintahs. They report a very fine vacation and fish galore. On Monday evening the family of Mr. and Mrs. J. C, Hilton, gathered gath-ered at the family home, to honor the birthday anniversary of their daughter and sister Mrs. Claire Nelle Huish of Provo. Mrs. Mary Wright and Mrs. Calvin Cal-vin Walker on Wednesday attended attend-ed the funeral of their sister and Aunt Martha Bezzant Whitticar in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Whitticar died at her home in Salt Lake City from complications following scalding. She was born in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove 79 years ago to Math-ew Math-ew and Marie Anne Bezzant, and spent the earlier part of her life here, until her marriage to Mr. Whitticar. Survivors include one daughter, Elsie Snider, one son Brinton Whitticar and four grand chilren. |
