Show Reception Held At American Fork For Young Couple Mr. and Mrs. LeDrue Varney of American Fork entertained on Monday evening, June 25, at a well arranged wedding reception, honoring hon-oring their daughter Carol and Robert Hicks, who were married earlier in the day in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple. The very nice affair was held in the American Fork Third ward recreation hall, where baskets of gorgeous roses were everywhere in evidence, and added charm and romance to the occasion. In the receiving lineup with the bride and groom, were the bride's parents,' the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eryant Hicks, matron of Honor Mrs. Stephen Meranda, and bride's mp.irii . Misses Peverlv Wright, Alice Strong, Rayma Peterson, Pet-erson, Carol Richards. Jay Hall performed the duties of best man. The attractive bride was charmingly charm-ingly gowned in sheer white organdy or-gandy over brocaded Satin and net. Her fingertip veil of fine illusion and lace fell from a dainty cap of lace. She carried pink carnations carn-ations tied with white satin ribbon. Mrs. Meranda chose jink, while the bridesmaids also wore lovely pastel formals, all fashioned alike and all held matching bouquets of carnations. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marrott received guests at the door. Leo Nelson was master of ceremonies and Miss Colleen Marrott handled the guest book. The well prepared program included: in-cluded: "Through The Years" by a ladies double trio; humorous readings, Veda Holindrake; violin selections, Margaret Hall; piano duet, Rosalie Richards and Colleen Marrott. Dancing, refreshments, visiting and viewing the unusaul gift display dis-play completed the evening's festivities. The temple ceremony was performed per-formed by Robert I. Burton of the temple presidency. Accompanying the young people and witnessing the marriage were the bride's mother, and her aunt Mrs. Gladys Fowler, and Jay Hall. The newlyweds are currently making their home in Pleasant Grove. |
