Show Solo-Glee Club Contest Program Next Thursday A Solo-Glee Club contest program pro-gram is to be given by the Music department of the Pleasant Grove high school on Thursday evening, March 3, at 8 o'clock in the high school auditorium. Two scholarship scholar-ship awards will be made to outstanding out-standing students by the Cadmus Club, who is sponsor of the program. pro-gram. The purpose of these awards is to simulate individual study in the music department. One award will be made in the vocal department and one award in the instrumental department. Each award will be $10.00 to be applied on lessons for the student. Irwin Jensen of the music department de-partment is in charge of the program, pro-gram, and the committee serving from the sponsoring club are Effie Adams, chairman, Berniece Chris-tensen Chris-tensen and Winnifred Adamson. Judge of the contest will be Professor Pro-fessor J. W. McAllister, BYU faculty fac-ulty member. Following is the program which will be presented. 1. Rain and River, Mixed Chorus; 2. Climbing, Boys' Glee; 3. Love is the Wind, Girls' Glee; 4. Enchanted Isle, Flute solo, Nadine Hales; 5. At Dawning, vocal solo, Patricia Hillman; 6. Mazurka, violin solo, Barbara Jensen; 7. Largo, cornet solo, Owen Richardson. 8. Warsaw Concerto, piano solo, Geraldine Thorne; 9. Pupils Fourth Concerto, violin solo, Georgia Bullock Bull-ock accompanied by Beverly Wright; 10. Romany Life, vocal solo, Lynnell Johnson, accompanied by Betty Page; 11. Humoresque, piano solo, Beverly Wright; 12. Sweethearts, vocal solo, Nadine Hales, accompanied by Beverly Wright; 13. Pathitique Sonata, piano pi-ano solo "Betty Page; 14. Deep River, Riv-er, Boys' Glee contesting with girls Glee in the same number. 15. This is My Country, Mixed Voices. |
