Show Manila Ward ' Beautification Work Progresses The Manila ward members have made progressive strides in their beautification progress , the past week. Clean-Up . Day found the high school gang busy under the able direction of Glendon Liston and Nyle Wadley puttting up the back stops on the remodeled tennis ten-nis courts. The grounds were cleaned ,tip and leveled. The Grove had the old branches burned and the trees trimmed. Grass seed was sown in the bare spots and new ditches made. An evening wieners around the bonfire climaxed the activities of the day. Owen Humphries of American Fork gave a very fine and interesting inter-esting illustrated talk on flower arrangement on Tuesday afternoon at the Manila Relief Society meet: ing. The ladies of Lindon joined in this interesting meeting. Several Sev-eral types of "floral arrangements were made illustrating correct principles in using flowers with different vases. "V" A garden tour was conducted on Wednesday with A. E. Smith of the USAC Extension Division and Mrs. Velyn Stevens of the agriculture office of Provo giving helpful advice ad-vice on individual problems in home landscaping. Homes visited were Mrs. Nyal Wadley's, Glendon Glen-don Listen's, Effie Adams' Cora Atwood's, Lurena Warnick's, Blanch Warnick.s Nelda Warnick's Melba Iverson's Maurine Fugal's Lucy Haycock's, Thelma Freeman's Free-man's and Mrs. Venice Fugal. |
