Show Cadmus Meets With Carol Wells Monday evening, October 24th, Cadmus Club members and guests, Mis. Edna Church and Mrs. Alberta Alber-ta Walker, met at the home of Carol Wells to enjoy a timely evening eve-ning on the subject "Peace," the day being the 4th birthday anniversary anni-versary of the United Nations organization. or-ganization. The program was introduced by Beulah Bradley, chairman of educational edu-cational committee. The subject "The World Today and Tomorrow," was given in two sections"Moboliz-ing sections"Moboliz-ing For Peace" and "Building For Peace." Winnifred Adamson gave a comprehensive com-prehensive and detailed discussion of the economic and military stability stab-ility of the United States, in her talk "Mobolizing For Peace." "Building For Peacs," was beautifully beau-tifully given by Luicllc Hillmnn. In her talk she stressed the value of teaching spiritual and peace-loving peace-loving attitudes, as a way of life, to our youth in the home, school, and church. A bit of American Philosophy was then read by Afton Miller. Music for the evening was under un-der the direction of Thelma Adam-son. Adam-son. "Recessional" was sung by a ladies trio of Salt Lake City, Mrs. L':wis Bowers, Miss Estella Clark and Mrs. Arvilla Clark, (who are sistes.) They were accompanied by Austin Barzee on the accordion. Mr. and Mrs. Barzee came with the group from Salt Lake City, also. The musicians also sang and played several request numbers for the club group. Lovely light refreshments were served by Mrs. Wells. Next club meeting will be held at the home of Laura Cromar, on November 14. when "A Spirit of Thanksgiving" program is to be given. "Religious and Racial Tolerance" Tol-erance" is the topic to be discussed by Effie Adams. I . |
