Show The Citizens Party Platform We commend the City Council Coun-cil on the care of the city affairs and improvements that have been made during the past years. We appreciate the fact that our city is limited in the things that can be done, but we feel that through careful study and thoughtful planning plan-ning we can have a very attractive attract-ive and beautiful city. We encourage the development of our resources and possibilities. It will be the aim of the members of this ticket to use every effort and available means to further this development and growth. A few of the many things we will encourage will be: 1 To continue to develop our culinary water system. i With the new increase in culinary culin-ary water recently purchased by the City, a big increase in community com-munity growth is now possible. Many more new homes can now be serviced. City Parks and Public Pub-lic property can now be more adequately ade-quately maintained and beautified. This will create a greater desire for people to build homes in our city. 2 To contiue the program of street and sidewalk improvement. With proper and increased cooperation coop-eration between the City Council and property owners, there is no reason why the weeds on our roads and sidewalks cannot be more completely com-pletely controlled, and not be permitted per-mitted to mar the beauty of our city. With a small investment additional ad-ditional necessary equipment could be purchased to care for the roads. We urge that waste water be kept off all roads. 3 To improve and beautify the two highways entering our city. We fell that by proper care of these approaches in keeping weeds down and installing attractive road signs at each entrance, more people peo-ple will have a desire to visit our city. 4 To encourage new buildings to be erected in our city. We propose to cooperate in every ev-ery way consistent and possible in the erection of a new Government Govern-ment Armory Building for use of our young men in their training and other activities. We will work for a building that will be a credit to our community. The Citizens Party candidates are well qualified for the various positions for which they were nominated. nom-inated. They represent the people of Pleasant Grove, in that they come from many walks of life, business, education, agriculture and industry. You can be sure that these cadidates, if elected, will spend the time and energy necessary necess-ary to do a good job as city officials. |
