Show Grove Ward Wins Fourth At Springville The Grove -ward basketball team lived up to all expectations in the division tourney at Springville last week, taking fourth place, but only being beaten by the winners, the Laramie Wyoming team. They won from Charleston ward of Heber, were beaten by Laramie the second night, and then on Fri-. day and Saturday came back to take Third ward of Provo and the Windsor ward team on Saturday night to cinch fourth place- They have, however still a chance to go on to the all-church finals at Salt Lake. All teams beaten only by the winner, Laramie will play off to decide a second place team that will play a second sec-ond place team from a Salt Lake division tournament for a berth in the big tournament. The teams that are still in the running for this are Wymount ward of Provo, who lost in the finals to Laramie, and Springville Sixth ward who were defeated in the the third round of play by the strong Laramie Lar-amie team. These two teams, together to-gether with the Grove ward will play off at as yet an unannounced date for this chance J. H Harvey, who topped the scorers in the Timpanogos stake during the season was signally honored at the ceremonies of a-ward a-ward Saturday night when he was selected on the" all-tourney team. I The Grove ward boys can feel I particularly proud to have played as well as they did against some real competition, and the Timpanogos Timpan-ogos stake should be proud to have been represented by such a fine group of young men. |
