Show Chipman Buyers Visit Midwest Markets Mrr Stanley Peters and Mr. Chris Scott, buyers for Chipman Mercantile company, accompanied accompan-ied by their wives, have just returned re-turned from Chicago, St. Louis, Nashville, Tenn., and Denver where they visited manufacturing manufactur-ing concerns and purchased upwards' up-wards' of $10,000 of winter merchandise. They report that stocks of critical merchandise are beginning begin-ning to increase some. However, it was the general feeling of manufacturers and wholesalers that much of the merchandise line now critical would remain so all thru 1946, these buyers found. The -strikes now hampering all the East broke the day Messers Peters and Scott left St. Louis and they report all places really feel the effect of strikes in those larger centers. Pickets were encountered en-countered everywhere, they report re-port but their jobs are to turn back the workers only and buyers buy-ers were permitted to enter all plants. |
