Show Am. Fork Locals Mrs. LaPriel Walter entertained the ladies of the Young bridge club , at her home Tuesday night. Prizewinners Prize-winners for the evening were Virgie Warnick, high score, and Melissa Robinson, consolation. Other members mem-bers present were Laura Parduhn, Beth Christensen, June Chadwick, Eva Skinner, Phyllis Preston and Dorothy Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte returned Sunday from a 10-day trip to the Pacific coast. Mr. Aydelotte was on vacation from the Farmers and Merchants bank in Provo. During Dur-ing their trip they visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John P. Aydelotte, Ay-delotte, and his brother and sister--in-law, Dr. and Mrs. J. T. Aydelotte, Ayde-lotte, all of Glendale, Cal. They also spent some time visiting Mrs. Aydelotte's relatives in Los Angeles, Hollywood and Long Beach. En route home, the vacationers stopped breifly in Cedar City at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Roberts. Mrs. Roberts will be remembered by American Forkers as the former Vee Aydelotte. Mr. and Mrs. George Wootton of Gilmer Drive, Salt Lake City, entertained at a reception Sunday honoring their neice, Miss ' Helen Wootton, of Washington, D. C, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Rollo Wootton of that city. She is receptionist recep-tionist at a large government hospital hos-pital there, She has a beautiful voice and is heard freuently over the eastern radio stations. At the reception re-ception she entertained the guests with sveral of her vocal selections. Attending from American Fork were Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Wootton, Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Shepherd, Adair Bromley and Mr. and Mrs. John Wootton. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Carter of Provo also were in attendance. Mrs. Frank Shelley and three sons, Glade, Arlo and Blaine, had a delightful de-lightful three-day trip to southern Utah last week when they visited Beaver, Zion park and Bryce canyon can-yon with Mr. Shelley who is employed em-ployed down there: The visitors returned re-turned home Saturday night. Little Miss Dona Richards, daughter daugh-ter of Dr. and Mrs. G. S. Richards, celebrated her seventh birthday anniversary an-niversary at a delightful party Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. Sixteen guests were present and they spent the afternoon playing games and enjoying en-joying refreshments. a ... Mr. and Mrs. Weston Hales and family of Lbs Angeles- arrived in American Fork last Saturday night for a visit with local relatives, and are staynig at the home of Mrs. John H. Wright. Mr. Hales will leave this Saturday night for California, but Mrs. Hales and her children will remain for an indefinite length of time. . . Tonight, Friday the G. A. club ladies and their husbands, 14 couples in all, will hold their annual summer sum-mer outing at American Fork canyon can-yon in the. form of a steak fry and bonfire party. An interesting program pro-gram has been arranged and the evening promises to be a, delightful one. Vi Steffen-was hostess Wednesday Wednes-day night to the Soiree Bridge club at her home. A light lunch was served to the guests and the remainder re-mainder of the evening was spent in playing cards. Madsen, Mrs. Vance Fisher, Mrs. Dave Cahn, Mrs. Velda Shumway, Mrs. Ronald Bate- Special guests of the evening was Mrs. Eslie Bennett. Mrs. Bennett claimed the high score prize,; Mrs. Birk won second high and Mrs. Bell was awarded the consolation favor. |
