Show Leegion Conducts Memorial Service Memorial Day Services at the Pleasant Grove cemetery were very impressive and were unusually well attended. Military exercises under the direction of the American Legion Leg-ion Post at American Fork, were carried on by Wilburn Hoggard. A salute was fired over the graves of the soldiers, and taps were played by Kenneth Wright and Leland Baxter. The Pleasant Grove high school band gave a concert under the direction of Irwin Jensen. Karl Banks gave the memorial address, which stressed the responsibilities respon-sibilities that rest upon American citizens today to uphold the ideals of Democracy for which the soldiers gave their lives. The high school male quartet, Warren Johnson, Howard Lowe, Willis Day, and Floyd Backus sang "God Bless America". Appropriate numbers were sung by the girls trio, Jeanne West, Lucile Newman, and Maurine Lim. The memorial prayer was given by Wilford Neves. |
