Show The Gold Star Mothers Tea Vas Fine Affair One of the outstanding entertainments enter-tainments of the month was the Cold Star Mothers Tea, given on .Saturday, May 11 at the First ward Chapel, by the American Legion Auxiliary. Lela Ranks, Gold Star chairman, was in charge of the program The eclors were advanced by Color Bearers Melva Richins and Geneva Gibson. Prayer was offered by Chaplain Sylvia Peterson. Warren Kirk rendered two vocal selections. Thelma Adamson, president of the American Legion Auxiliary gave the address of welcome.' Doris Rogers read a three act play. She was assisted with organ music playede by Miss Carol Smith. Gold aand white corsages were pinned on the Gold Star Mothers, and at the conclusion of the pro- gram eaoh Gold Star Mother was presented with a 'beautiful lace trimmed handkerchief, in a hand painted folder. Following the program refresh, ments were served to the guests present. Musical selections were rendered by Barbara Jensen, Patsy Anderson, Beverly Wright, and Margene Page. The chapel and serving tables were beautifully decorated with red, white and blue flowers. J |
