Show Lowe W. Howard j Lowe W. Howard, son. of Eva C. Larson and the late Charles J. Howard, was born at Bountiful, Utah, on July 12, 1921. The family moved to Pleasant Grove in 1934, and he graduated from the Flcas-ant Flcas-ant Grove High School, and L. D. S. Seminary in 1940. He also attended at-tended the Brigham Young Univer-sity Univer-sity for one quarter. During high school he participated particip-ated in football, track and basket ball; he was also a member of the Future Farmers of America, and took a prominent part in school dramatics. Lowe has always been active in the L. D. S. Second Ward having been a member of the M. Men's basket ball team, and outstanding out-standing in Ward dramatics and scouting. He joined the L'tah National Guard, 222nd F. A. in 1939, and trained with them at Centralia, Washington and at Willard, Utah. On January 20, 1941, he was discharged dis-charged from the guard and joined the U. S. navy. He was assigned to the medical corps, and served for over a year at Mare Island. California. On February 4, 1912, lie received an honorable discbarge from the navy due to ill health. He returned return-ed home and has been engacrpd in defense work since the summer of 1942. He is now at Fill Field, bavin" alree.di- completed one course at the U. S. A. C. and one at Hill Field, in airplane meehanic. He is 1 memher of the Hill Field Air Corns. He has recently been appointed ap-pointed an instructor in mechanic? at Hill Field. A brother. Thomas Howard, is ( servintr with the V. S. army at Camu Forest, Tennessee. Another brother. Charles Howard, is with the Marine Corps at New River, North Carolina. FTe has another brother. Wilford Howard, who was inducted into the service last Saturday. |
