She has been a help and inspiration inspira-tion to all who associated with her. Her interest and sympathetic R-uidance has helped hundreds of bovs and pirls to find their rightful right-ful place in life. The memory of her personality will live forever. NEW TEACHERS Miss Allred, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wanlass are new teachers at school this year. Miss Gwenna Allred from Spring City, is a graduate of the B Y U. She taught last year at the Enterprise Enter-prise high school and is teaching history and sewing here. Mr. Ernest Smith from Pleasant Grove is a graduate of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove high school in 1927. and received his A. B. and M. A. in 1931, 1933 from the B Y U. This !o Vllt! tdnt-V, -.ran,. f V,; school. He taught two years in Texas and seven vears in Kanab where he was principal last year. Mr. Smith teaches history and mathematics and likes teaching very much. Mr. Frank Wanlass from Lehi, is a graduate of the B Y U. This is his 20th year of teaching. Mr. Wanlass taught three years in Old Mexico, eight years at a junior college in Arizona and eight years in Nephi. Mr. Wanlass enjoys school and has taught quite a number num-ber of subjects. This year he is teaching speech and glee and is in charge of the library. SEMINARY Several improvements have been made this year on the seminary building and its surroundings under un-der the direction of Wm. C. Smith. The inside has been redecorated and the color changed from a dark stain to ivory. The floor has been sanded and five coats of finish have been put on and the latest style seats have been installed to add to the beauty and comfort of the interior. Fine potted plants have been set around the inside and Mr. Smith has had red sand hauled in and new lawn planted where the old lawn was not growing. NEW CLASSES Two new classes have Been added add-ed to theh igh school curriculum this year. ASSEMBLY HELD FRIDAY Flag ceremony was the first event on the assembly program Friday. Fri-day. This was followed by two songs from the student body. Mr. Banks then gave a welcome address to the students. This was followed by a song from the trio composed com-posed of Donna Marie Adams, Harriet West and Joye Freeman. All new senior high students were introduced individually, and all new junior high students were introduced by grades. Substitutes are: Ethel May Fowler, Margaret Adams and Norma King. ENROLLMENT " The Pleasant Grove high shool is happy to welcome 52 new students stu-dents this year. The total student body has been increased 26 over lasts pring. Enrollment in each class is as follows: Grade 1941 1942 7 90 75 8 82 97 9 82 83 10 69 92 11 58 70 12 59 45 FIRST LYCEUM Satrting Pleasant Grove high schools Lyceum season off with a bang, Bob Wood entertained in an assembly held Monday. Mr. Wood, who trained at the Chicago Art institute, gave an illustrated several well known readings. To the 'added delight of the audience he also drew cericatures from the names of a number of boys in the audience. PEP CLUB Twenty-four outstanding junior and senior girls were chosen for the Pep club at the tryouts held Monday afternoon in the high school. While the girls marched and stood at attention the three judges were Mrs. Greener, Miss Allred and Lieutenant Rogers chose the following girls: Beth Cillmnn.
