Mr. Eldores Smith of Provo, Mrs. Vern Collins and Mrs. Taul Adamson motored to the Salt Lake army airport Friday to see their brother, Corporal Bernaar Smith, mechanics crew chief, for B-17 and B-24 flying fortresses. Corporal Smith, who entered the armed forces last April, was one of five honor students to graduate from his class at Sheppard field, Texas, on September 12. He visited here with relatives on Saturday evening eve-ning and left here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kennard Crawford and little son Jerry of Salt Lake City were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Nelson. Mrs. L. W. Jones of Provo and Mrs. Mont Smith and children of Salt Lake City were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Blackwell. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adams announce an-nounce the birth of a son at the American Fork hospital on Thursday, Thurs-day, September 17. Mr. and Mrs. Walter WiTTiams and two daughters of Salt Lake City were Sunday guests of Mrs. May Yancey. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fugal and son Dale returned last weekend from a vacation trip to Las Vegas, Nov., where they visited with their daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Huntsman and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Bunker. The Fugals made the trip by way of Boulder dam and other points of interest. Among out-of-town people who attended the funeral of Mrs. Clyde Green on Sunday were: Owen Green of Camp Kohler, Sacramento, Cal.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Houston of Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Daley and two daughters of Price, Mrs. Theo Ricks and Arthill Bunnell of Rexburg, Idaho, Mrs. Annie Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Holmes of Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kirk, Mrs. Cleo Hales and Miss Leah Dilly of Magna, and Miss Thelma Larson of American Fork. Mrs. Harry Nielson of this city attended the funeral of Mary Ann Losee at Lehi on Thursday of last week. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Ira Nelson had as their guest last week, Mrs. Nelson's Nel-son's nephew, Robert Thompson of Wichita, Kan. Mrs. Glen Turner and infant son of Springville is spending the week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Niels Fugal, having been removed re-moved from the Utah Valley hospital, hos-pital, where the little newcomer arrived. ar-rived. Mrs. Turner was before her marriage, Miss Lucile Fugal. Mrs. LaVar Hooley, the former Mary Duke arried here last week from Milwaukee, Wis., to spend some time with her mother, Mrs. L. C. Price and other relatives. Her husband Sergeant Major LaVar Hoolev has been transferred to Miami, Fla., where he will attend officers' training school. |
