Show Funeral Next Saturday For Viola West Miss Viola West, teacher in the Pleasant Grove high school, died Wednesday morning in the American Ameri-can Fork hospital of bronchial pneumonia, after an illness of two days. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, in the Timpanogos stake tabernacle, with Bishop Joseph S. Walker of the Pleasant Grove third ward in charge. Miss West was born at Pleasant Grove, September 17, 1892, a daughter of John H. and Alice Lo-max Lo-max West. For 29 years she has been a teacher in Pleasant Grove, first teaching at the central school, later as an instructor in English and journalism in the high school. iShe has been active in church work, serving as a member of the presidency in the Timpanogos stake Y M M I A. She also served in the ward presidency and as a teacher in the Sunday school, and was active ac-tive in dramatic art and as a public reader. Among her other activities, she was correspondent for the Deseret News and other papers, and for year she was a member of the library li-brary board. She is survived by one sister, Miss Josephine A. West, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ethel West Carlson of Pleasant Grove, and the following nephews and nieces: Mrs. Gwvn W. Larson, Eugene West of Logan, Dale N. West of Provo, J. West of Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the home Friday afternoon and "until time of services Saturday. |
