Show , Manager Reminds Youths of Entry Deadline May 18 I Only a few weeks remain before the opening of the sixth annual intermountain junior fat stock show in North Salt Lake, June 2, 3 and 4; therefore, Show Manager David Sharp Jr., issued a final reminder of entdance requirements to prospective pros-pective F F A and 4-H club members throughout the intermountain west. "All entries must be registered with G. Roy Backman, secretary, North Salt Lake, not later than Monday, May 18," Mr. Sharp, warns. Chapter and club members should also be mindful now that they must submit for inspection at the time of arrival at the show a financial summary sheet on each individual animal, properly filled out and signed by the county agricultural agent or vocational instructor. They should have these sheets in the best shape possible since any exhibitor without a properly recorded financial finan-cial summary will forfeit any premium pre-mium money awarded his animal." In a statement addressed to F F A chapters and 4-H club members in Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and Western Slope Colorado, Mr. Sharp outlined other regulations governing eligibility and .conduct, while at the show. "No ex- j hibitor will be allowed to enter exhibits in more than one division, that is, both FFA and 4-H club," he said. "They must be members in good standing in their respective club or chapter and must own the cattle, sheep, or hogs they exhibit." Other important rules are: That any animal exhibited at any previous previ-ous major show, if entered in this show, must be exhibited by the original orig-inal owner; that no partnership entries will be allowed; that all entries en-tries must be on the grounds not later than noon of June 2; that each contestant must take care of and exhibit his own animals unless excused by the management; and that all show stock will be sold through the intermountain junior fat livestock show commission at the conclusion of the show. Mr. Sharp emphasized the importance im-portance of filling out the entry blanks properly. The blanks may be secured through the respective high school vocational agriculture teachers and 4-H club leaders. These blanks must be signed by the teacher teach-er or leader, certifying that the exhibitor ex-hibitor meets the requirements of ownership, registration, record keeping, and that in his opinion Vir. r.t nl. Prospective entrants were also reminded that more than $3000 will be distributed in the form of regular regu-lar premiums and special show awards. About half of this will go to the routine winners in the fceef, lamb and hog divisions with the remainder going to high-ranking chapters and clubs, and individual fitting and showmanship winners. Also, that premium prices will be paid at the auction sale following the show. |
