Show Fine Address Given By Dr. Walker On Post-War Planning "L'tahs Agriculture During Post War Period" was the subject ably dicussed by Dr. R. H. Walker, chairman of the Central Committee Commit-tee of the Utah State Agricultural Planning committe and dean of agriculture at the Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural 'College before members of the Pleasant Grove Lions club and invited guests Wednesday evening eve-ning at the First ward amusement hall. Dr. Walker explained the workings work-ings of the recently created state agricultural planning committee,, which includes leaders in various branches of agriculture in this state. The central committee is composed of the following outstanding outstan-ding men: R. H. Walker, chairman, chair-man, Frank G. Shelley, vice chairman; chair-man; W. W. Owens, Tracy R. Wel-linggg, Wel-linggg, A. W. Chambers, Ora Bun-dy Bun-dy 11a V. Reeder and Reed Bailey. The organization is also divided into sections with the members of the Central Committee in direct charee of the sub-committees. Dr. Walker discussed conditions as they will confront agriculture following the close of World War 2 and stated that it is the hope of the planning committee of Utah and other agricultural states ihat plans can be worked out that will aid materially in solving the vital problems that will confront agriculture agri-culture in the post-war period President Rulon Brimhall was in cberge of the meeting with Merrill Mer-rill Warnick in charge of the pre- . gram which in addition to Dr. Walker's address included several vocal numbers by Mrs. Victor Stokes and accompanied by Jennie Gleason. Six new members were inducted into the Lions Club Wednesday evennig, with President Brimhall delivereing a fine introductory address, ad-dress, giving the new members a talk on the principles of Lionism and instructing them of their responsibilities re-sponsibilities to the club and to the community in which thev live. The new members are: Wallace Wimmer. Warnick Swenson. Bill Hunter, Winfipld Clark. Victor Stokes, aha LeRoy Thorne.
