Show Six Directors Named At Annual Election Six directors were elected at the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce Com-merce annual election o'f officers held last Saturday evening in connection con-nection with the turkey dinner-dance dinner-dance at the P. G. High School. Directors elected for two years were: Golden Peay, S. Christensen, Christen-sen, A. B. Gibson; one year: Le-lnnd Le-lnnd I vers, Lloyd West and Jos. Christiansen. Holdover directors, Ertman Christensen. H. E Bradley and Howard Warnick. Outgoing directors are: Harvey Smith. Robert Rob-ert Marrott, George Paul, Arza Adams. Ruelon Robbins and A. B. Gibson. Arza Adams was master of ceremonies cere-monies and introduced the following follow-ing program: Address of Welcome, President Harvey Smith. After a short address of welcome President Presi-dent Smith discussed some of the accomplishments o'f the chamber of commerce and then urged full cooperation of all organizations of the community in putting over the many important projects that are needed. President Smith then introduced introdu-ced the guest of honor Dr. A. Ray Olpin, President o'f the University of Utah and presented him with a gavel, which was made by Principal Prin-cipal Karl Banks. Dr. Olpin responded with a few well chosen remarks, expressing appreciation 'for being invited to come to his home-town, as guest of the chamber of commerce and congratulated Pleasant Grove on the high educational standards that has been built up and maintained main-tained by this community, and was always proud to tell the people that Pleasant Grove was his birthplace. birth-place. Secretary Vilace Radmall read the annual financial report. Loyle Bailey rendered two vocal solos, "aeompanied by Mrs. Bailey, after which I. D. Goodwin of Lehi entertained the guests with a very clever Magician Act. Dancing was enjoyed during the balance of the evening. The Mayor and City Council and their wives were guests o'f the Chamber of Commerce. |
