The lives of Leslie Cromar and his son Richard wore saved from drowning in an Irrgigallon ditch Thursday morning by the quick response of Calvin Walker and his son .Tim, & members of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Fire Department and Police department. The Cromar child apparently fell in tho ditch which runs nor Hi and sou Hi along second east, street, and Mr. Cromar attempting lo rescue the child apparently ap-parently slipped and fell ino the -;inal. The swift walcr took both down stream, and under the hrid",c that crosses the intersection between be-tween Hie Central school and the Third ward church. Tho bodies lodged under the bridge in a large hole. , Mrs. Cromar saw the bodies go clown stream and screamed, which attracted tho attention of Calvin Walker and his son who were cutting cutt-ing the lawn at the Third ward church grounds. Mr. Walker immediately imm-ediately turned the water out of the ditch, telling the neighbors to notify the fire department, and then he and his son Jim went under the bridge and rescued the child from his fathers arms. Mr. Walker used artificial respiration res-piration on the child, while the ipolico and fire department rescued Mr. Cromar and used the resus-cilator resus-cilator to restore his life. |
