Show JOSIAH KEMP IS HONORED BY FIREMEN The Pleasant Grove Firemen entertained at a well arranged dinner party at the Alpine Grille Monday evening honoring former Fire Chief Josiab. Kemp and Mrs. Kemp, and also the new Fire Chief, Richard Allred. ' Committee in charge were chairman chair-man Golden Peay, and Mrs. Peay, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marrott, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mathews. Mrs. J. L. Thorne paid a toast to Mrs. Kemp, while assistant Fire Chief C. R. Clark toasted Mr, Kemp on behalf of the Firemen and auxiliary. auxil-iary. Mr. Kemp was presented with a handsome gold wrist watch and his wife with a pearl necklace. Robert Marrott read a letter from the city council, expressing appreciation apprec-iation to Mr. Kemp for his many years of efficient service and also a check in acknowledgement of same. E. M. Bradley in behalf of the chamber of commerce paid tri-Ibute tri-Ibute to Mr. Kemp's untiring work las a city official, and told how the chamber of commerce were having a plaque made for itihe former for-mer Fire Chief. Fireman Eldon Johnson offered a toast to the new Chief, Richard Allred and expressed the goodwill and support of the firemen. Mr. Kemp has been connected with the Firemen of this city since 1908, more than 30 years of that time he has served as Chief. The department which he served has and refreshments served, he has been untiring in his efforts to render the best service possible. |
