On .My 27, he received an appointment ap-pointment to attend Field Artillery .Mechanics School for enlisted specialists spec-ialists at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This course was completed on Aug. 2, 1911, and he had an average grade of 85 per cent and a class standing of 11. lie received a rating rat-ing of Private First ('lass upon graduation and resumed his duties at Camp San Luis Obispo. The order to embark for foreign for-eign duty was issued to this group of men early in December and they wereroay to sail on the fateful day of December 7, J 911. However How-ever this order was withdrawn and since that time Ellis has been stationed stat-ioned at various camps in California Califor-nia and at Fort Lewis, Washington. Washing-ton. While at Capt Lewis, PFC. Ellis received the rating of Technician Techni-cian -lib grade. He is now stationed at Camp Gordon, Georgia. Sergeant Ellis has passed the Military hoard examinations ex-aminations for Officers Candiate School and experts to leave- soon to begin his studies. Sergeant Roy S. Ellis is the son of Mrs. Lillian Ellis Walker of Pleasnt Grove, Utah, and was horn in this city on Jjne 20, 1919. He graduated from the Pleasant Grove High School in May, 1937. Roy was active in Future Farmer and Boy Scout work. He attended the I". S. A. C. in 1037 and 1938 and attended the E. Y. V. two terms the following year.
