Cadmus Club memDers and guests, who were, Mrs. Calvin Walker and Mrs. Louis Coleman of Provo met Monday evening, February Feb-ruary 17 at the home of Ina Page at 8 o'clock. President Sytha W. Johnson conducted con-ducted the meeting welcoming guests and club members with some very fine thoughts taken from a book by Will Rogers, ambassador am-bassador of good will. Rose Hillman, legislative representative, rep-resentative, reported on her last meeting at the legislative council at Provo, giving the affirmative and negative sides to the new labor bill No. 47 now pending in the state Senate to be voted upon. Berniece Christensen read the Club Prayer. Carol P. Jaynes, educational chairman, introduced the speaker of the evening, President Sytha W. Johnson, who discussed the subject Argentina, Continental Cornucopia Mrs. Johnson gave a very comprehensive com-prehensive report on Argentina, its early history, its people and its resources re-sources and their relative importance import-ance to us as Latin American neighbors. Before Mrs. Johnson gave her talk she was presented with a beautiful corsage by Laurena Warnick War-nick and an original birthday greeting was read to her by Ora W. Thorne in behalf of the Club members, to show their appreciation appreciat-ion for her as president of the club and to wish her a happy birthday. Delicious light refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted assist-ed by her mother, Mrs. Coleman. The next meeting of the club is to be at the home of Beth Shoell on March 3. 1917. when election of officers will take place. |
