Show Funeral Services Conducted For John Holindrake Funeral services for John Robert Holindrake, 70, who died in a Los Angeles hospital on May 22, were held in the Second ward chapel here Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The chapel was well filled with friends and relatives who came to pay their last respects. The many floral offerings were beautiful "and also showed the respect ana love oi friends and neighbors. Bishop Joseph H. Storrs was in charge of the services. The opening open-ing song, "A Land of Peace" was sung by the Third ward ladies trio, Mrs. LaDocia Wagstaff, Mrs. Edna Boley and Mrs. Clara Rhodes, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Randall Shipley. John Jacklin offered the invocation. Stephen T. Baker was the first speaker and Miss Maxine Taylor played a violin solo, "Resignation." She was accompanied by Miss Cloe Priday. The second speaker was president Clifford E. Young. Bishop Storrs made a few closing remarks and the closing song, "Prayer Perfect" Per-fect" was sung by Kenneth Robin- j son, who was accompanied by Miss Priday. Benediction was offered by David R. Mitchell of Lehi. Interment Inter-ment was made in the city cemetery, ceme-tery, where the grave was dedicated by Bishop Junius West of Pleasant Grove. Mr. Holindrake had been visiting in California for the past two weeks when he was taken ill and removed to a hospital where he died of complications following an operation. opera-tion. He was a life long resident of American Fork, having been bom here May 26, 1866, the son of John and Sarah Wood Holindrake. He was a member of the L. D. S. church and held offices in the Deacons Dea-cons quorum and had served as a ward teacher for many years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice Throckmoreton Holindrake; three daughters, Mrs. Junius A. West, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Joseph Hixson, Provo; Mrs. J. E. Howarth, Salt Lake City, and three sons, Vern, Hayden and George Holindrake, all of American Fork. |
