Show A. C. Field House Now Available For State's Use LOGAN With the completion of the new field house at Utah State Agricultural college which was first used last Saturday when nearly 4,-000 4,-000 farmers heard the college band presented in concert, a fine new building is now available for use by the college and the state. The new structure will be of great service not only for athletics but for the various other divisions at the college. It will be used for stock shows, horse shows, 4-H club and Future Farmers of America conventions, conven-tions, for commencement exercises, pageants for civic organizations and numerous other uses which may be presented. The school of agriculture agricul-ture under whose direction the agricultural agri-cultural shows and crop displays are given will find the field house filling fill-ing a particularly great need. More than 3500 seats are now installed in-stalled in the field house and with comparative ease this number can be increased to 5,000 which will be necessary for certain gatherings of the college and the city and county. On October 18 when the United States Navy Band presents a concert con-cert in the field house the largest crowd to gather in a building in the valley will be accommodated at the concert. As Dr. Elmer G. Peterson, president presi-dent of the Utah State Agricultural college, has said, "the new field house will have a wide value for the many departments at the college as well as its immediate purpose of providing excellent facilities for i competitive and intramural athletics. ath-letics. Its many uses are innumerable innumer-able and the college will always be deeply indebted to the officials of the state, the board of trustees, and the many others who worked so hard to create this very useful and important addition to the college plant." |
