Mrs. Oma M'ili-hcll entertained a number of friends at her home Friday afternoon. Tiridf e was the main diversion, after which a delicious luncheon was served. Mrs. Squire Chipman arrived home last week from S icrament.o, Califor-j nia, where she had spent the past ten days visiting relatives. The Fourth Ward Geneological Society met Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Thomas Coddington, where a lesson on "Record Making" was given. Other business matters were also discussed. The deeoral ions and luncheon! were suggestive of Washington's birthday. Thirty members were' present. The First Ward Gleaner and Junior girls enjoyed a party Tuesday evening even-ing in the Relief Society room of the ward chapel, following their regular class work. Contest games were the entertaining features, after which delicious de-licious refreshments were served. I The games and refreshments were ; suggestive of Washington's birthday j and Valentine day. Mrs. Ed Winn returned home the first of (the week from Grand View, Idaho, where she has spent the past month visiting her son and daughter and their families. Mrs. Francell Homer is entertaining entertain-ing at her home today (Saturday) for a number of friends. Bridge will be in progress during 'the afternoon, followed by luncheon. John Shafter returned to American Fork the first of the week for an indefinite in-definite visit with his mother, Mrs. Mina Shafter, after spending two and one-half months in southern Utah. Radio music was also enjoyed along with the sewing diversion. Mr. and Mrs. Will Miller spent the week-end visiting in Salt Lake City with their daughters, Hannah and Rouie. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Karren visited I heir daughter, Katherine, in Salt Lake City during the week-end. Miss Karren is employed in the City. Mrs. Will Miller left Friday for Los Angeles, California, where she will visit indefinitely with her daughters, Mrs. Bethyl LeBaron and Miss Ber-niece Ber-niece Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Leavitt left Wednesday forBrigham City, where they will make their home indefinitely, indefinite-ly, Mr. Leavitt being employed by the Mountain States Telegraph and Telephone Co. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Firmage and Mr. and Mrs. William Chipman left Wednesday for California, where they will spend the following week on combined business and pleasure. Kenneth Haslem and Leo Searles, both who are attending the L. D. S. Business College in Salt Jjake City, spent the week-end visiting relatives here. Maurice Davies of Provo, commenced com-menced work in the local j. C. Penney store Wednesdaj", and will be employed em-ployed there during Mr. J. L. Finn-age's Finn-age's stay in California. Mr. Davies was transfered from the Provo store to fill this vacancy. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Scott entertained entertain-ed at dinner Wednesday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Owen Humphreys and son, Kenneth, of Salt Lake City. The Humphreys family were former residents resi-dents of this city, Mr. Humphreys being employed by the Chipman Merc. Co. President and Mrs. S. L. Chipman were among those from this city w-ho attended the basketball games in Provo Monday and Tuesday evenings between Montana State College and the B. Y. U. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Gaisford, Jr., Martin Nielsen and Keith Nielsen, attended at-tended a lecture in Salt Lake City Monday evening at the Chamber of Commerce Building given under the direction of the University of Utah Extension division by Ralph Par-lette. Par-lette. Miss Verda Anderson of Provo, whose marriage to Wallace Brown ot this city took place Wednesday, was the motif for several showers to be given in her honor during the past week. Monday evening, her mother, Mrs. Esther Boulton, entertained at her home in Provo, and Friday evening, even-ing, Miss Fern Davis of Provo entertained. en-tertained. A number of local friends were in attendance. Mrs. Knord Beck, assisted by Mrs. James Snape, entertained at a Valentine Valen-tine party at the Beck home last Friday Fri-day evening. The rooms were cleverly clever-ly decorated in Valentine colors. A large ,-ed heart formed the centerpiece center-piece of the luncheon table, while miniuire dolls held heart place cards. The evening was spent in Valentine games and stunts, after which luncheon lunch-eon was served to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. S. D.
