Gadsby, elected president presi-dent and general manager of the Utah Power and Light Company at a meeting meet-ing of its directors on February 4, has assumed his duties and is now directing the affairs of the company. As general manager of the company, Mr. Gadsby succeeds D. C. Green, who i recently resigned his position as vice president and general manager of the company to accept a position with (lie Electric Pond and Share Company Comp-any of New York City. Lafayette j Hanchett, who resigned as president of the company and who was elected chairman of the board, is succeeded j as president by Mr. Gadsby, as would be inferred. Mr. Gadsby has had widespread experience ex-perience iu the public utility field. He resigned as president and general manager of the West Penn Power Co., with head office at Pittsburgh, to accept ac-cept the position he now holds with ; the Utah Power and Light Company. In 1909 he was graduated by Massachusetts Massa-chusetts Institute of Technology and ! immediately thereafter became asso-I asso-I ciated with the Warren Water Co., a ' subsidiary of the American Water j Works and Guarantee Company, at I Warren, Pa. Then he went to Pitts- burgh, then to Little Rock, Ark., and later to New York. He joined the West Penn organization in 1918. The , territory served by this company in-' in-' eludes about 210 cities and towns in ! western and central Pennsylvania. His first position with the company-was company-was as assistant to the president, a year later becoming vice-president and "filling that office for nine year, |
