Show Strawberry Cold Pack Outlook Is Successful With, an acreage of strawberries and other small fruits, approximating approximat-ing 1,000 acres in prospect for the coming year, the Utah Cold Pasli cooporation is entering upon its second year of operation -with a bright outlook. Over 6,000 acres were signed up last year, when the company transacted a business of $225,000, according to a report filed at the annual meeting, held Saturday at the Tirnpanogos stake tabernacle. A new plant costing $12,000 with machinery installed valued at ?6,000 has been added to the resources of the corporation since its inception last year, it was shown in the report given out. More than 200 growers participated in the meeting and much enthusiasm was manifested. The corporation which is entirely cooperative in character has rendered render-ed a valuable service in stabilizing the small fruit market, and bringing greater returns from this phase of horticulture. All officers of the corporation were re-elected as follows: A. V. Watkins, president; James H. Clarke, vice-president; vice-president; W. J. Condor, Lee Earl Burr and Alvin Lunceford, directors. Roy E. Park was appointed manager of the fresh fruit market and H. W. Jacobs of the cold pack market. o |
