This is the first defeat the Forkers have tasted thus far this season. The victory for 1 our lads puts them on an equal stand-' stand-' ing with American Fork for honors in 1 the league, each team having lost but 1 one out of six games. The game Friday was one of the 1 niost sensational of the season in this division. The first quarter was hard fought and was anyones period, ending 6 to 4. American Fork made ' her fight in the second quarter finish-! finish-! ing the half with a ten point lead, the ', score being 19 to 9. ! Our team came back in the third ' quarter, playing lightning-like ball 1 and completely mystified the visitors. ' The third quarter ended 26 to 22, ! the Berrypickers having scored 17 ; points while they held the visitors to a 3 point advance. '' The fourth quarter was battled thru more evenly the final score being be-ing 32 to 28. Pleasant Grove meets Provo High tonight (Friday), Lincoln here Monday Mon-day night and Lehi at Lehi next Friday. Fri-day. The Lehi game is the only one which is really expected to give our team any real competition and will determine our status in entering the state tournament. |
