Show Report of Waterworks Department In addition to maintaining the system during the past year the waterworks department has made several improvements. It was decided de-cided by the council a year ago that they would attempt to place all service serv-ice lines in the city on meters by January 1, 1936. This goal will hardly be reached by that date but the work will be continued and before be-fore spring the system will be completely com-pletely metered. Ninety one meters have been placed in service during the past year. The installation of these meters called for the making of one hundred eighty two cement rings which were made by the water works superintendent. During the past year some of the smaller improvements to the system consist of : First Laying 325 feet of 2 inch cast iron pipe, from Isaac Sundberg's to Joseph Shoell's corner. Second Laying 317 feet ,cf 1 inch galvanized pin; fiTr.i S. E. Adams residence tu L. H. Bastion corner. ThirdPlacing 30 feet of 4 inch cast iron pipe in Battle Creek where same had been taken out by a slide. Fourth Put in three new lines thru the city cemetery. Fifth Put in six service lines to new homes and placed a stand pipe on the line near the home of Mr. Earl Loader. Other improvements of minor importance have also been made. |
