Fork Locals The last of a series of lessons on music appreciation in the Fourth ward M. I.' A. which have been given weekly by Mr. K. J. Bird, will take place next Tuesday night. Mr. Bird will talk on church music and a demonstration of the types will be given by several of his students. The week following, the class will close with a program for the entire en-tire mutual, which will be announced an-nounced next week. Mrs. William R. Hansen entertained enter-tained nine friends and relatives at her home yesterday afternoon, the occasion being her birthday anniversary. an-niversary. The af ternoon was spent in sewing and chatting and in the early evening a hot dinner was seYved. Covers were laid for Mrs. B. F. Moffett, Mrs. William Els-more, Els-more, Mrs. Reed H. Robinson, Mrs. Leland Mitchell, Mrs. Moral D. Steele, Mrs. Lenard Pett, Mrs. May Blake and Mrs. Jesse Spafford of this city, and Mrs. George Elsmore of Salt Lake. Complimentary to the marriage of Miss Marie Durrant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Durrant of this city, to Lydale Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Peterson of Lehi, which took place Tuesday of last week in Provo, a wedding party was held in the Lehi Memorial building build-ing last Friday night. A number of relatives and friends from this city were among the guests. A wedding supper was given at the Durrant home here the evening the young people were married, the members of tooth immediate families famil-ies being present. A merry assortment of characters typical of Hallowe'en' gathered to- gether at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Devey Sr. when the ladies of the American Fork Sor-osis Sor-osis Club and their husbands were entertained in an annual Hallowe'en Hallo-we'en party. From the group John Robinson was selected as the best costumed. Games were played pro- j gressively, several prizes being awarded, following which a delicious deli-cious supper was served. The home was decorated, in the colors of Hallowe'en together with motifs appropriate ap-propriate for the occasion. Thirty were present. A Sunshine party for a number of elderly people of the First ward was held at the home of Mrs. Rose Hansen Monday afternoon. There were twentyseven ladies present, and Mrs. Betsy Hunter was in charge. A program was given consisting con-sisting of the following numbers: Singing; prayer by Mrs. Lillie Shumway; two readings, Mrs. Hazel Shelley; humorous paper, Mrs. Martha Mar-tha Hunter; solo, Mrs. Edna Boley; "Peering into the Future" by Mrs. Mary E. Abel; Hallowe'en stunt by Mrs. Hannah Ashby and Mrs. Rose Hansen; singing. . A light lunch was served. Wednesday of last week a Sunshine party was hold for another group of ladies at the home of Mrs. Agnes Householder, seventeen being, present. Mrs. Rose Hansen was in charge of this party. |
