Show HIGH SCHOOL NOTES Suzanne Grua, Reporter. The Literary Club members met Tuesday noon for the purpose of electing officers for the present year and for devising eligibility rules for membership. Those elected to office were: President, Suzanne Grua; Vice President, Eva Marie Conway; Secretary-Treasurer. Mildred Fowlke. The G. A. A. executive board met Wednesday at 12 o'clock in the Student Body Council room. The advisability of forming a leaders' "Pep" club, and plans for future activities ac-tivities were discussed. Also reports were given by sports managers. TENNIS TOURNAMENT The girls double tennis tournament terminated last week when Naomi Driggs and Iola Jensen defeated Edna Christiansen and Jenny Burch in a well played match. The scores Df the two sets played were 7-5 6-2. Nina White and Leah Bezzant won third place by defeating Elaine Fen-ton Fen-ton and Elizabeth Oscarson. Other participants in the tournament were: Phyllis Hilton and Suzanne Grua; Vivian Burch and Emma Walker; Leora Walker and Bernaditte Conway; Con-way; Ruth Nelson and Ora Smith. This marks the second time that Naomi Driggs has been a winner in tennis doubles competition being teamed last season with Helen Spen- j cer. Miss Driggs and Miss Jensen ; axe both members of the Junior class. I Edna Christiansen tennis sports manager of the Girls Athletic Association Asso-ciation will conduct a singles tour-lament tour-lament in the early spring. |
