Officers and teachers of the First ward Primary association and their partners will hold a "weenie" roast and social this evening at 7 o'clock at the cave camp in American Fork canyon. Sam Hilton Jr. and Abel Eakins who are attending the Utah State Agricultural college at Logan, spent the week-end here to attend graduation gradu-ation exercises of the high school, with -Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hilton. Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Jones and family will leave Saturday for Cedar City, where they will make an extended ex-tended stay visiting friends and' relatives. Timpanogos stake dancers who will participate in the dancing festival fes-tival at Salt Lake City June 10, at the annual M. I. A. convention, will hold a rehearsal Tuesday night. It will be held in the Second L. D. S. ward amusement hall, at 8 o'clock. The first year foods 4-H club met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Merrill N. Warnick. Following a lesson, a toast-making contest was held, LaRene Monson and Beth Radmall winning the plain toast prize, and Irene Warnick and Ireta Flanders, cinnamon toast. The Mother's club met Thursday at the home of Mrs. Josie Walker. Miss Miriam Wilson of Brigham Young university read a play, as a feature for the closing meeting of the season. New officers have been elected by the club, with Mrs. Frank Newman, president; Mrs. Louis Olpin, vice president; and Mrs. Le-Grande Le-Grande White, secretary. In honor of the birthday of Abel Eakins, a party was given at the S. W. Hilton home here Saturday night for twelve young people. Attending At-tending besides Abel were Dale West Roy Ellis, Sam Hilton Jr., Reed Smith, Mariam Adamson, Virginia Jacobs, Lora and Grant and Donna Chipman of American Fork, and Frances Hilton. -A dinner was served, serv-ed, and the evening was spent in playing games. David Walker, student at Brigham Young university, has been confined to his home for more than two weeks with "flu" and tonsilitis. Two Pleasant Grove girls attending attend-ing Brigham Young university have been selected as "big sisters" of the mentor organization, to aid new students stu-dents in becoming acquainted with college life, next year. They are Miss Louise West and Miss Ora Ann Smith. Honoring Millen D. Atwood on his eighty-fifth birthday, a family party was held Monday at the home of Bishop and Mrs. L. M. Atwood. Twenty-five relatives, including six children and a number of grandchildren grand-children enjoyed a delightful evening. eve-ning. Mrs. Loy Doss, district nurse, has departed for the Pacific coast, where she wiill attend a university summer sum-mer session at Berkeley, California. Mrs. Doss will follow studies in public pub-lic health nursing. A number of Pleasant Grove firemen fire-men attended a. session of the firemen's fire-men's school at Provo Thursday night, headed b y Chief Josiah Kemp. The local department furnished fur-nished a booster fog nozzle for the demonstration, which was made by Battalion Chief J. K. Piercey of Salt Lake City, and Chief Clyde Scott of Provo. Thiis nozzle, Mr. Kemp said, will send out a straight stream, or can be turned down to a fog for use in interior fires. |
