OCR Text	Show Casting Precious Metals In casting gold and silver, temperatures tem-peratures running about 1,600 degrees de-grees Fahrenheit are used. These temperatures create a considerable consider-able problem in materials for the mold boxes, as most metals oxidize oxi-dize at such great heats. Recently Recent-ly an alloy of nickel and chromium chro-mium has been chosen as the material ma-terial for these boxes because it resists destructive oxidation until a thermometer reading of 1D50 degrees de-grees is reached.
