Show Second Ward ! Relief Society Presents Play The Second ward amusement hall was packed to capacity Wednesday evening when the Second ward Relief Re-lief Society dramatic cast, under the direction of Mrs. Mabel Swenson, ! presented "Safety First," a comedy drama in three acts. The play was well cast. Zelda Nelson as the lisping hus-;band hus-;band brought many a laugh from the 1 audience and Berton Gray as the sweetheart of Virginia created many i perplexing situations. Mrs. Rhoda ! Clark and Mrs. Mabel Hendrickson, i daughters "of the society matron, ;Mrs. Barrington Bridger (Mrs. Katie j Hayes) were w-eil taken. Mi's. Hayes I fitted her character role admirably. jMrs. Fern Hicks as McNutt, a typical typi-cal Irish detective, was the cause for j many cheers. Mrs. Vida Conway, jthe Irish maid, was appreciated by ! people who knew the difficult char-jacter char-jacter role. Mrs. Martha Peterson, as the terrible turk, struck terror to the youngsters present. Mrs. Olen j Yancey as the fortune teller, was j appreciated. Her costumes fitted 'her picturesque character. s Boyd Nelson was in charge of the make-up of the cast. Mrs. Mabel Swenson and her cast have worked hard and untiringly for the past six weeks to perfect the parts. |
