Show Benevolent Society Organized Here A north. Utah county benevolent society, to. &e known as the Timpan-ogos Timpan-ogos Benevolent Society,, was organized or-ganized in this district Tuesday under un-der the direction of C.. H. Cordon, and H. C. Johnsen together with two directors, from each of the three major towns. The purpose of the society is to provide a type of benevolent protection pro-tection for a burial fund that fits into the present economic conditions. The society is composed of residents of Lehi, American Fork and Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, between the ages of 10 and 60 years, and is composed of memberships not to exceed 1500. A member voluntarily donates $1 at the death of a member of said unit, and the proceeds of the donations to be paid to the beneficiary of the deceased member. No money is paid except on the death of a subscriber. No salary is paid to any officer, and no one receives a profit from the operation of the society. The money is kept right here at home and when a member dies your donation goes to a friend or neighbor. neigh-bor. Any person can belong to the organization, or-ganization, if they wish. The membership mem-bership fee of $2.00 is all that is required, re-quired, other than the $1.00 donation dona-tion at the death of a member. It is learned that this is not a' new plan, having been in operation by communities, corporations and i labor unions for a good many years, ; and the plan has been found to be a very successful one. Mr. Cordon states that local people peo-ple will be used to secure the membership mem-bership and would be glad to inter-i inter-i view anyone interested in this work. I Local officers of the society are, James D. Thome, Glen L. Taylor, 'Edward J, Larsen, Dr. C. O. Jensen, I Glen R. Adamson and A. F. Gais-ford Gais-ford Jr. as secretary and treasurer.. |
