Show Am. Fork Locals Walter Hanson of American Fork and his nephew, Dean Haslam of Shelley, Idaho, are spending the week in Duchesne, where they will attend the U. B. I. C. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Baird entertained enter-tained the J. C. Penney store force at their home Friday evening. Dinner Din-ner was served after which motion pictures were enjoyed. Those present pres-ent were, Miss Bessie Kelly, Miss Merma Grant, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Conder and Glen Haslam. Mr. and Irs. J. H. Warner moved into the Annie Greene apartment Saturday. S. L. Anderson and Miles Anderson Ander-son of Nephi, were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Anderson Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James Moffett, Miss Bernice Wilde, Mrs. Lillie Wilde and Mrs. Sanford Wilde and son Dick, spent Monday in Salt Lake. Captain and Mrs. Robert Sharp and family of Hawaii were dinner guests Tuesday evening at the E. H. Boley home. Captain Sharp, who is on furlough from his duties in Hawaii Ha-waii is Mrs. Boley's brother. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Pederson announce an-nounce the arrival of a' baby girl, born Wednesday, August 25th. Mrs. Pederson was Miss Sarah Robinson before her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Allen and family fam-ily spent Saturday and Sunday in Nephi visiting with Mrs. Lewis Garrett. Gar-rett. Mrs. Garrett is Mrs. Allen's mother. Mr. and Mrs. Charles I. Sampson have moved into the E. Ray Gardner Gard-ner apartment., Mr. Sampson has been selected to act as assistant instructor in-structor in the American Fork Seminary Semi-nary this coming season. Mr. and Mrs. James Moffett of Ann Arbor, Michigan, arrived here Thursday for a visit with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Moffett, and Mrs. Lillie Wilde. They expect to remain here until the middle of September. The members of the Contract Club were entertained Thursday evening by Mrs. Stanford Briggs at her home here. Two tables of bridge were played, high score prize being won by Mrs. James Chadwick. Miss Edith Young left Wednesday for a month's trip to New York City. She was accompanied by Miss Gean Clark of Provo. Miss Clark will remain re-main in New York, where she will attend Columbia University the coming year. Saturday evening Mrs. Lillian Booth entertained at a party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carey of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Erma Clark of California. Members of the immediate family were present. Mrs. Alma Earl spent Thursd ." Salt Lake City visiting witd '.' daughter. Mrs. Fred Osterloh. o I' Mrs. Ray D. Nicholes. who has , been attending school at Columbia j University in New York returned I home the first part of the week. ' Mrs. Nicholes will be employed in the Logan school district again this season. Dr. and Mrs. F. K. Sullivan and i two sons of Guam, were visitors in American Fork Sunday. Mrs. Sulli-j Sulli-j van is a daughter of Mrs. J. E. jBuckwalter. Dr. Sullivan who has j been stationed in Guam has been transferred to San Francisco. On their way home the Sullivan family visited in the Phillipines and In Japan. Miss Miriam Vance of Provo is a guest this week of Miss Maurine Spafford at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Devey, Jr.. with their family spent last week in American Fork canyon in the Silver Lake country. I , Miss Gail Elton of Dividend, is I visiting relatives in American Fork this week. Miss Elton is a granddaughter grand-daughter of Niels Nelson. j Captain and Mrs. Glen A. Wright of Ogden. Utah, left Sunday morn- ( Ing for a two weeks stay at Fort Warren in Wyoming. The officers and teachers of the American Fork Fourth ward M. I. A. enjoyed an outing up American Fork canyon at Cave Camp Wcdnes-' Wcdnes-' day evening. Games were played and a hot supper served. Mrs. E. N. Weekend Week-end guests at the Coddlngton ranch were Miss Helen Haslam and Albert Bertgnoly of Salt Lake. The county and city employees who work in the Utah County Court House enjoyed a picnic and program up Sprlngville canyon Tuesday evening. eve-ning. County Clerk C. A. Grant and Miss Millie Greenwood from American Ameri-can Fork were among those who attended at-tended the party. There were about 95 employees and their friends present. Sunday Mrs. Lillian Booth, Wayne C, and Lucille Booth, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Booth were guests of Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Morrison at their home in Salt Lake, the occasion being a party given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carey, and Mrs. Erma Clark. Mrs. May Shelley entertained the Variety Club Friday afternoon at Bromley's. Three tables of bridge were played. Miss Lillie Shafter won the club prize and Mrs. Aaron Greenwood the guest prize. A delicious de-licious lunch was served late in the afternoon at the small tables. Special Spec-ial guests were Mrs. Edith Brown and Mrs. Aaroti Greenwood. The family of Mrs. J. E. Buck-waiter Buck-waiter held a reunion Sunday at Saratoga. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Smart and three children of Reno, Nevada: Dr. and Mrs. F. K. Sullivan and two sons of Guam; Mr. and Mrs. John K. But-kwalter and two children of Brlgham City; Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Buckwallcr and three daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Huckwalter and throe sons and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Iirlecken of American Fork. The ' afternoon was spent in swimming j and playing games, after which n delicious lunch was served. Those I present included all of Mrs. Huck-walfeiM Huck-walfeiM children except one son, Morris Huckwalter of Baker, Ore- gon, who was unable to be present. o Miss Nell Baldwin of Afton, Wyoming, Wyo-ming, is visiting this, week at the Lot Robinson home, a guest of Miss Fern Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Magelby and family of Monroe, moved into the Eugene Nicholes home the latter part of last week. Mr. Magelby, who is a contractor, is building a home for Mrs. Sablna Allen on First East between Center .street and First South. Miss Christine Ramsay and Mrs. II. II. Ramsay entertained Saturday evening at a miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Uernlcc Wilde, a bride of the month. A buffet luncheon lunch-eon was served. The serving table was covered with an Italian lace cloth and centered with a bowl of fall flowers. Mrs. Harold Ramsay and Mrs. Mark K. Allen assisted with the serving. The guestrooms were beautifully decorated with fall flowers. Eight tables of bridge were played. Vina Sfeffens of Salt Lake won the first prize and Louise Storrs the second. The; guest of honor was presented with a number of attractive attrac-tive and useful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Hutchlngs celebrated cele-brated their "Ifith wedding anniversary anniver-sary Sunday, August 21)th. Dinner was served to the following: Mr. hnd Mrs. Lawrence Hutrlilngs and their two sons, I'aul and Htanley, Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. IluU-hlngs and their daughter Iieveiiey, Mr. and Mrs. E. (I.
