Show Local Firemen Win Honors at State Meet The American Fork firemen and their ladies succeeded in bringing honors to the American Fork department de-partment and the city at the state convention held in Midvale the fore nnrt nf this wepk. Glen Chadwick was elected sar-gent sar-gent at arms of the state association, associa-tion, I. L. Pratt, chief of the local department, received the appointment appoint-ment as chaplain again and Mrs. I. L. Pratt, was elected vice president of the ladies auxiliary. In the annual contests the local department showed up very well, winning fourth place in the meet. They won third in the ladder climbing climb-ing contest and Weston Pratt placed plac-ed fourth in the single man hose coupling contest. Irving L. Pratt, member of the house of representatives in the last state legislature from American Fork, paid tribute to former members mem-bers of the association who have died. Mr. Pratt was the principal speaker of the afternoon. Those attending from here included in-cluded Chief and Mrs. I. L. Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Chadwick, Mr. and Mrs. Russ Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Weston Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Varney, Mr. and Mrs. LaDrew Varney, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Shum-way, Shum-way, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Loveridge. -o |
