Fork Locals Mrs. David Grant and son of Salt Lake spent the forepart of the week in American Fork with her parents, Bishop -and Mrs. T. A. Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Peterson and Mrs. Ada L. Stoddard of Lehi, spent Monday here with Mrs. Ted Lee, the occasion being her birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Barlow, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Kenney of Salt Lake were Sunday visitors here with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Lee and family. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hutchings and family, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hutchings and daughter of Salt Lake City spent Mother's Day in American Ameri-can Fork with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Hutchings. An item overlooked last week was the announcement of the birth of a winsome baby girl to Mr. and Mrs. John Varney. Mother and baby are doing nicely. En,hop and Mrs. Lot Robinson had as guests for Mother's Day dinner din-ner Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Robinson of Highland; Mr. and Mrs. Kay Morton and daughter of this city. The next number of the Fourth ward budget entertainment is well underway and will be given in the near future. The Relief Society is responsible for the program which will consist mainly of a play. The date will be announced next week. Mr. and Mrs. James Moffett of Salt Lake spent last week-end here with Mr. Moffett's parents, Mr. and Mi's. B. F. Moffett and with Mrs. Moffett's mother, Mrs. Lillie Wilde. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Snow and daughter Beverly Jean of Elmo, arrived ar-rived Friday last to spend the summer sum-mer here with Mrs. Snow's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Spratley. Mr. Snow will attend summer school at the B. Y. U. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and son Keith and Mrs. J. F. Kirk of Salt Lake spent Mother's Day here with Mrs. Lillian K. Brown and family. Manager Shelley of Thornton Drug Store No. 2, announces that they will now accept telegrams for The Postal Telegraph Co. They have been appointed agents for this company. adv. Relatives here are concerned over Visitors during the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Duncan were Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Rock, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Prince and children child-ren of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. June Erickson and son Lynn of West Jordan; Byron Lovall of Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Solon Richardson of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Percel Richardson and baby ba-by of Murray; Mrs. Henry Erickson and son Fen of Provo, were among those who called upon Mrs. Mary T. Erickson at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Lot Robinson Sunday to bestow be-stow Mother's Day greetings. I The spring Primary festival presented pre-sented by the Second ward as a I number of the ward budget entertainment enter-tainment series Tuesday night was a pronounced success and the results re-sults were gratifying not only to those who witnessed the program I but to those who were in charge as well. The Primary presidency, Mrs. Vergie Anderson, Mrs. Leila Sykes and Mrs. Hortense Allen were the general supervisors of the affair; Mrs. Blanche Tattersall was music director; Misses Relia Allen and Betha Storrs, accompanists and Mrs. Nina Booth dance director. The class leaders were in charge of the costumes for their groups. The entertainment en-tertainment was very well attended. the condition of Mrs. Thornton Birk who is quite ill at the home of her parents in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Birk and baby were spending two weeks here with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Birk and Mr. Birk was preparing to leave for California when his wife was stricken. Mrs. Delbert Chipman is in attendance atten-dance each night in Salt Lake at a course of training for FERA supervisors super-visors of the state which is being given at the University of Utah. The speakers give special training in special welfare work and the course lasts for three weeks. Mrs. Rulon Peterson of Lehi was hostess to the H. B. Club last Thursday Thurs-day afternoon. Bridge was played, Mrs. Thelma Lynch of American Fork winning the high score prize. A delicious lunch, was served late in the afternoon, at the small tables. The special guests were Mrs. Grace Chipman and Mrs. Lynch of American Ameri-can Fork, Mrs. Beulah Evans of Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. John Devey, Miss Arvilla Devey and Ervin Devey returned re-turned Monday from a two weeks trip to the coast. They visited in San Francisco and then on to Los Angeles. While in California they visited in Gaudeloupe with Mr. and Mrs. John Mathews (Amy Devey) and in Mountain View with. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Devey. |
