Show Gold and Green Ball The Gold and Green Bair,. given by the Timpanogos Stake Ml . I. A. was one of the outstanding affairs of the year. The spirit of the M. I. A. was very well portrayed in the decorations. Gold and Green lamp shades or box chandaliers hung from each, light in the hall. The windows were covered and each one represented a class, or group division of the M.. I. A. Two large placards on each side of the hall represented the special activities dancing, drama, music and public speaking. In one end of the hall was the inscription "The Glory of God Is Intelligence," and in the other the Queens throne, which, was very attractively at-tractively worked out with alternating alternat-ing streamers of gold and green. Little Miss La Priel Parduhn, wearing a long green dress and carrying a basket of flowers, led the procession. The queen, Mrs. Thora Linebaugh of the Second Ward M. I. A., was resplendent in a white satin gown with a long green velvet robe. The two pages Jack Gardiner and Don Hilton, clad in white satin court uniforms, carried the queen's royal train. The court attendants, representatives rep-resentatives from each of the five other wards of the stake, clad in beautiful dresses of pastel shades, followed in the court procession as follows: Ellen Adams First ward, Louise Christiansen Third ward, Lucille Wadley Manila ward. Donna Gill-man Gill-man Lindon ward and Bessie Young Windsor ward. Delmar Nelson was the queen's escort and performed the crowning ceremony. A large group of dancers from all wards of the stake formed a complete com-plete circle of the dancing floor and gracefully danced the Green and Gold tango. Miss Arvilla Clark and Elroy West assisted by Maybelle Fair and Arleen Bastain were in charge of the dance with Elda Neves as accompanist. Mrs. Josie Walker and the entire stake board were in charge of the hall decorations. Miss Juana Taylor and Miss Ruth Preston designed the decorations. The dancing throng of beautifully dressed young women and men made the gym a scene of gay laughter and real worth while entertainment. This yearly fete was equal to, if not superior, to any of the previous ones enjoyed by the Timpanogos Stake M. I. A. |
